THE LOOK OF LENT

Ash Wednesday, February 17th, began the penitential season of Lent.

THE LOOK OF LOVE

February 14th, Valentine’s Day and World Marriage Day, included a renewal of wedding vows for those attending the 11 AM Mass.

FIRST RECONCILIATION

Fr. Richard met with second graders to address their concerns before their First Reconciliation on Tuesday, March 2nd.

ALTAR SERVER OF THE YEAR

Evangelista Schmarder, pictured here with Bishop Kmiec and Fr. Paul, was honored at the diocese on Saturday, February 27th.

THE OLD IS NEW

A previously retired confessional with screens is being restored for use.

SOUP AND STATIONS

Justice and Peace Committee is sponsoring simple Soup Suppers at 6:00 PM on many of the Fridays during Lent - meatless meals in the spirit of  fasting and almsgiving where offerings of “beans for bellies” and “bucks for beds” are collected for those in need.

Soup and the Stations of the Cross which follow are provided by various groups from the parish.

Quiet Waters Productions presented

a musical version with slides.

 

 

PASSAGES CONCERT

IRISH NIGHT

Sure’n everyone was a wee bit Irish on March 20th at the annual Irish Night Fundraiser

at Lucarelli’s. 

ST. JOSEPH’S TABLE

Sr. Anthony coordinated a St. Joseph’s table for the school during the day on Friday, March 19th and the parish celebration followed in the evening.

ANTIOCH YOUTH

Teens from our youth ministry

 raised monies for their trips

 via their sales March 13 & 14.

 

FIRST EUCHARIST RETREAT

Third grade students and their parents

 gathered for a mini-retreat on Sunday,

March13th in preparation for 1st Eucharist.

 

LIVING STATIONS

were presented by Antioch Youth Ministry on Sunday, March 28 at Nativity and

Monday, March 29 at St. B’s.

 

 

PALM SUNDAY

Holy week began March 28th

with palms and a big procession

at the 11 AM Mass as Hosanna’s

gave way to “Crucify Him!”

 

HOLY NAME LENTEN FISH FRY

This popular annual event, hosted by Holy Name and served by St. Bernadette School 8th Grade, took place on Friday, March 26th.  Yep, they sold out again!

 

 

LOOKING AT LINCOLN

St. Bernadette School is hosting a national touring exhibition on Abraham Lincoln.  Students presented a special program on Sunday, April 11th.

 

CONFIRMATION RETREAT

Confirmation candidates spent a busy day at Cradle Beach on April 11th preparing for the sacrament through prayer, liturgy and service.

 

YOUTH MINISTRY RETREAT

Fifty teens attended our youth ministry’s  10th Jesus Revolution Spring Retreat at Camp Turner in Allegany State Park

was held Sunday, April 11th.

SOLAR PANELS

Our energy bills will be dropping thanks to a grant that covered the entire cost of the solar panels being installed on the school roof the week of April 19th.

ALTAR SERVERS HONORED

On Sunday, April 18th, our altar servers were recognized at the 9:00 AM Mass and thanked for their faithful ministry. 

A family breakfast reception followed.
